RECIPROCITY LIST FOR RESIDENT LICENSURE FOR
APPLICANTS REQUESTING WAIVER OF PRELICENSING
COURSE WHEN APPLYING FOR RESIDENT LIFE,
VARIABLE ANNUITY AND HEALTH
The 1992
Florida legislature enacted legislation
which permits an applicant for licensure as
a Florida resident life and variable annuity
and/or health agent to exempt Florida's
40-hour prelicensing educational requirement
if, within the four (4) year period prior to
filing their application for resident
license, the applicant held a resident
license in life and variable annuity and/or
health insurance in another state. Please
refer to Sections 626.7851(3) and
626.8311(3), Florida Statutes.
In
order to qualify for this exemption, the
applicant's former state of residence must
be willing to grant reciprocal treatment to
licensees formerly licensed in Florida. This
statute applies only to life and variable
annuity and/or health insurance agents. It
does not apply to applicants requesting
licensure for property and casualty
insurance.
