What is the current status of my Florida homeowners policy with Florida Select?
Based upon the financial condition of the company, Florida Select started sending out
non-renewal notices and cancellation notices to its Florida policyholders on December 28, 2006. If you received a
non-renewal notice, your policy was not renewed by Florida Select. If you received a cancellation notice, your policy
was cancelled as of the date stated on your cancellation notice. Policies with a normal expiration date, or those policies
that are cancelled for non-payment of premium prior to the cancellation date on your notice, shall stand cancelled as of the
earlier time and date.
Can I purchase a new Florida insurance policy from Florida Select?
No. Florida Select ceased writing any new business effective July 7, 2006.
I am a Florida Policyholder who received a cancellation notice from Florida Select.
Will I get a refund of my remaining premium?
Return premium refunds were processed within the company’s normal procedures. If you received
a cancellation notice and previously paid your premium without use of a premium finance company, the premium refund should have been
sent to you. If you financed your premium through a premium finance company, the refund was returned to the premium finance company.

What is the current status of my Florida flood policy with Florida Select? Do I still have flood insurance?
Yes. Currently, all Florida Select flood policies covering Florida properties are still in force.
South Carolina Policyholders
What is the current status of my South Carolina homeowners policy with Florida Select? Do I
still have insurance?
All in-force South Carolina policies were assumed by Capitol Preferred Insurance Company on September 15, 2006.
By now you should have received a notice in the mail from Capitol Preferred alerting you that they assumed your policy and which
provided the company’s contact information for future use. If you have not received a notice, you should contact Capital
Preferred at (800) 734-4749.
Can I purchase a new South Carolina policy from Florida Select?
No. Florida Select ceased writing any new business effective July 7, 2006.
