During Fiscal Year 05-06, the Division of
Risk Management provided workers’
compensation coverage to approximately
197,966 state employees, volunteers, and other statutorily mandated persons. The major categories of workers’ compensation benefits due covered persons who sustain a job related injury or illness are:

Since January 1, 1997, medical benefits have been coordinated through a Managed Care Arrangement (MCA). The current MCA is CorVel Corporation for dates of accident occurring on or after January 1, 2003. The previous MCA Protegrity (Humana) continues to be responsible for medical case management on accidents that occurred between January 1, 1997 and December 31, 2002.
New claims with dates of accidents on or after January 1, 2003, should be reported to CorVel at 1-866-786-3351. In a medical emergency, transport the injured employee to the nearest medical facility or call 911 for emergency assistance. Following the arrangement of emergency medical treatment for the injured employee, contact CorVel at 1-866-786-3351.
If the injury requires non-emergency treatment, contact CorVel at 1-866-786-3351 immediately and prior to obtaining medical treatment. CorVel will assist the injured employee in selecting an appropriate medical provider from the CorVel Provider Directory. CorVel provides this service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
