FARMEDIC: Technical Rescue for Agricultural Emergencies
F.A.M.E. (Fireground Accountability Management and Endurance)
Note: The Department of Education Statewide Course Numbering System uses the FFP prefix to indicate thoses courses within the Fire Science Curriculum. The first number indicates the level, either Freshman (1) or Sophomore (2), and the last three numbers indicate the course topic. Due to the variety of courses offered through out the state it should be noted that courses with the same last three numbers are the same course, contain the same course content and contact hours regardless of the first leveling number.

RESCUE SERIES
FARMEDIC: TECHNICAL RESCUE FOR AGRICULTURAL EMERGENCIES
FSFC 110 (12 Contact Hours, 0 College Credits, class size: 15 minimum, 25 maximum)
Textbook: Farmedic Student Manual
Course Fee: $85.00 payable to Florida Department of Financial Services (The course registration fee includes a lab fee)
The Farmedic course teaches the appropriate responses in chemical, mechanical, and structural accidents as well as the logistical, rescue, and EMS problems that can occur in the agribusiness and related environments.
NOTE: The Farmedic program is also approved for 12 continuing education hours for Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic certificates.

Course Fee: $85.00 payable to Florida Department of Financial Services
The new Florida State Fire College FAME course will increase an experienced firefighter's safety, ability and effectiveness during interior firefighting operations with breathing apparatus. It involves atmospheres of increasing smoke density and heat, search and rescue in mazes and obstructed areas, and safety procedures of equipment fails. Instruction also includes accountability and management of firegound personnel and issues relative to human performance (heat stress, dehydration, etc.)
NOTE: To enroll in the course you must be 18 years of age and possess the Firefighter I certificate. Students must also have at least 3 years of documented firefighting service with an organized fire department. This course taxes the stamina of the student and is not for everyone.
