FIRESAFETY INSPECTOR II CERTIFICATION

To be certified as a Firesafety Inspector II, an individual must be certified as a Firesafety Inspector I in the State of Florida, and must successfully complete 160 hours of certification training for Firesafety Inspector II, or have received equivalent training in another state. Documentation of training is to be submitted with the required Application for Firesafety Inspector II Certification (DFS-K4-1446), Personal Inquiry Waiver (DFS-K4-1020), Processing Fee (DFS-K4-1019), along with all other supporting documents.

Four 40-hour courses are required for certification. A description of each course can be found by clicking the course title below. The courses are offered at the Florida State Fire College, Community and Junior Colleges through out the state, and some of the Certified Training Centers.

  1. FFP 2111       FIRE CHEMISTRY
  2. FFP 2541       PRIVATE FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS II
  3. FFP 2610       ORIGIN and CAUSE

and one of the following 40 hour courses

  1. FFP 1793       FIRE and LIFE SAFETY EDUCATOR I
                         (Introduction to Public Education)
  2. FFP 2706       PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER
