Software Users Updated Version 5.4.2

To All NFIRS 5.0
Users and Vendors:
Please be aware that on August 9, 2007 NFIRS
released the USFA NFIRS 5.0 client software Version
5.4.2.
The
software update process has been posted on the NFIRS
web site
www.nfirs.fema.gov/ . As stated in that message,
users with 5.4.1 and 5.4.0 will be able to update to
the version 5.4.2 using the Automatic Version
Update if they are operating the program online.
Following the update to 5.4.2, a warning screen
labeled Federal System Access will occur each time a
user accesses the NFIRS On-line system and its
web-site services. This window is required by
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as stated in
the Sensitive System Policy Directive 4300A, Section
5.2.3b.
As
of December 31, 2008 USFA will no longer accept 4.1
data. All users of the old 4.1 DOS program will
need to switch to the latest 5.4.2 program prior to
the sunset of NFIRS 4.1 program.
