On June 30, 2006, Florida Select Insurance Company (“Florida Select”) was ordered into receivership
for purposes of rehabilitation by the Second Judicial Circuit Court in Leon County, Florida ("Court"). The Florida
Department of Financial Services is the court appointed Receiver of Florida Select. The company consented
to the receivership.
Florida Select, a Florida corporation licensed in 1996,
was headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama and
had additional offices in Sarasota, Florida. The company is authorized to transact business in the state of Florida
as a domestic property and casualty insurer. Florida Select wrote homeowner’s multi-peril, allied lines, and fire
insurance coverage in Florida. Florida Select also wrote business in South Carolina and had policies in force in that state.
The company is an affiliate of Vesta Fire Insurance Corporation; Vesta Insurance Corporation; Texas Select Lloyds Insurance
Company; Shelby Casualty Insurance Company; The Shelby Insurance Company; and Select Insurance Services, Inc., all of which
are in receivership under the control of the Texas Department of Insurance.
South Carolina Policies The Receiver, working closely with the South Carolina Department of Insurance,
developed a plan that allowed for Florida Select's South Carolina Policyholders to continue their homeowners and flood insurance
coverage through Capitol Preferred Insurance Company ("Capitol Preferred"). Capitol Preferred is an "A" rated insurance company located
in Tallahassee, Florida, and licensed in South Carolina. Under the Court approved plan, Capitol Preferred assumed Florida
Select's approximately 14,000 South Carolina policies effective September 15, 2006. Consumers with questions regarding

Florida Policyholders The Receiver developed a plan that allowed for Florida Select’s
Florida policyholders to continue their homeowners and flood insurance coverage through Southern Fidelity Insurance
Company (“Southern Fidelity”). Southern Fidelity is an “A - Exceptional” rated insurance company located in Tallahassee, Florida.
Under the Court approved plan, Southern Fidelity offered Florida Select’s approximately 70,000 Florida policyholders a property
insurance policy upon non-renewal or cancellation of the existing Florida Select policy. Non-renewal notices and/or cancellation
notices were mailed to policyholders beginning December 28, 2006, and provided a sixty (60) day notice to the policyholder,
as approved by the Court on December 21, 2006. Consumers with questions regarding Southern Fidelity may visit its website at
