- Every family should have an exit plan and practice it at least twice a year. In each room you visit, plan and review your two ways out of that room. If you plan to use windows as your second way out, be sure they open easily and you have what you need to get to the ground safely. If you don't have an exit plan, your hunt for home hazards won't be finished until you've made one.
- Your hunt for home hazards will involve checking many pieces of equipment. Working smoke detectors are some of the best home fire protection sources available. Fire extinguishers are useful for small fires in the home - but only if you know how and when to use them! Remember, it takes three things to make a fire.
Heat, Oxygen and Fuel. make up the
Fire Triangle If you take any one of those three things away the fire will go out! |
