Timely Submitted Brochures and Notices to the Injured Worker

Statute 440.185(4), F.S. requires the carrier to mail to the injured worker an informational brochure within 3 days after the employer or the employee informs the carrier. Administrative Rule 69L-3.0035, F.A.C., requires the carrier or its claims-handling entity on behalf of the carrier mail to the injured worker the informational brochure within 3 business days after notification of the injury or illness.

Statute 440.185(12), F.S. requires the employer or carrier to provide the employee with a written notice upon receiving notice of an injury from an employee. Administrative Rule 69L-26.004(6), F.A.C., requires that this notification shall be mailed to the injured employee within three (3) days after the carrier receives notice of the employee’s injury.
