House Fire Claims Three Lives

TALLAHASSEE- The State Fire Marshal's Office and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office is conducting an investigation of a house fire that claimed the lives of three Franklin County residents early this morning.

The Apalachicola and Eastpoint Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a house fire at 41 Bay Shore Drive in Franklin County. After the fire was extinguished, the bodies of Chris Tobin, 24 years old, Kenzie Tobin, 3 years old, and Myra Tobin, 1 year old, were discovered in the home. Autopsies performed by the Medical Examiner's Office in Tallahassee revealed that the three victims died as a result of smoke inhalation.

The investigation, which is ongoing, has revealed no indications of foul play at this time.

The Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations is the law enforcement branch of the Division of State Fire Marshal that assists other state and local law enforcement agencies in the investigation of fires of suspicious or unknown origin.
