TALLAHASSEE—Florida's fire and rescue workers will be honored in a round of events TOMORROW, April 5, beginning with a presentation at the 9 a.m. Cabinet meeting to this year's Fire Service Award recipients.
Then at 2:30 p.m. in the Capitol Courtyard, Florida's Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal Tom Gallagher will present the first check to the Florida Firefighter Charities representing money raised from the sale of the Florida Salutes Firefighters license plate. The check will be presented to this year's ambassador of the Muscular Dystrophy Association, a charity Florida's firefighters consistently support.
That will be followed at 3 p.m. by the unveiling of the Florida Fallen Firefighter Wall of Honor. The ceremony will begin in the courtyard and end with the unveiling of the wall, located inside on the plaza level of the Capitol at the Chief Financial Officer's office.
